George Perry's Alice Gray Quadrilles were, according to an advert in the Norfolk Chronicle (23rd of May 1829), published in 1829. This copy has the date 1829 written on the cover in ink. They were issued through Alfred Pettet's music shop in Oxford Street, London. The title "Alice Gray" probably alludes to the 1827 ballad of the same name by G.W. Reeve. These quadrilles are arranged to be consistent with the dance figures of the First Set of Quadrilles. The tunes contained within are:...

Zenas Purday (previously of Goulding & Co) was the successor to William Hodsoll at 45 High Holborn, London. He sold music and musical instruments there between 1830 and (at least) 1859. This publication is his 1837 Royal Quadrille Preceptor , much of the contents are likely to be derived from his 1831 Fashionable Quadrille Preceptor . The book is around three inches in height, it was presumably intended for dancers to carry with them to events in order to recall the figures for the various...

The British Army Quadrille, performed with enormous success at the Agricultural Hall Concerts. The British Army Quadrille was an immensely popular piece of music composed by M. Jullien (1812-1860) in 1846, it was arranged to be accompanied by four military bands. This particular version was published to accompany the revival of the piece in 1867. This music was not a Quadrille set to be danced to, rather it was a performance piece for use at the Promenade Concerts that Jullien himself conducted...
